GUPHA

The Global University Program for Healthcare Architecture (GUPHA) is the educational arm of the Union of International Architects -Public Health Group workprogramme (UIA-PHG) initiated by visionary Professor Emeritus George Mann of the Center for Health Systems & Design at Texas A&M University, United States and Prof Emeritus Dr Yasushi Nagasawa from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Many universities, including Prof Romano Del Nord of Florence University, had hosted the forum. Prof Dr David Allison of Clemson University, USA, was the last person in charge of GUPHA before COVID-19.  After COVID-19, Prof Dr Ray Pentecost places health as central in the UIA design for health in the year 2022. Thus, GUPHA, as UIA PHG educational arm, is now termed the Global University Programme for Health & Healthcare Architecture.
